The Red and The Hidden Language is an alternative-indie, progressive electronic band, not bound by any genre other than what they try to create in the moment. Their debut album "Verdandi" is a trip from the beginning, all the way to the edge. Both physically and mentally. Two friends vision of change, during the journey towards the inevitable.

Through Pelle's mesmerizing voice and guitar, and Fredrik's often progressive electronic rhythmic soundscapes, they try to bind their individual journeys together through stories, influences, and experiences, in small compact compositions of musical gems.

Pelle and Fredrik met in the late 90's in Malmö, but it wasn’t until the summer of 2025 that their paths aligned again when Pelle moved to Copenhagen, where Fredrik have lived for the last 20+ years. It didn’t take long before part of Fredriks studio, just outside Christiania, was transformed to a small bare-boned music studio and HQ for the duo.

In the beginning they were just talking about Pelles last two records and how he always imagined the songs with heavy beats and bass. Electronic. A nostalgia about specific musical expressions from the 90s. David Bowie's Outside, Massive Attack and Tricky. Björk. But also a continuation of something Pelle have loved since he played in Venus Outback. He also had a few unfinished sketches but had almost given up on getting them finished, when Pelle first moved to Copenhagen.

The journey of Verdandi started 15 years ago on an empty beach north of Barcelona, where the first song “Secret tounge” was written. Followed by years of travelling from Morocco to India, Experiences and songs followed.

Half of the songs on the album Verdandi is cuts from Pelles previous recordings. Re-recorded and re-imagined during the fall of 2025. The other half are completely new songs that haven’t been recorded before.

It started as a fun exercise in what can we do with what we got. And it turned out to be a lot. First of all we had a music studio where we could compose, record, and jam as much as we wanted to 24/7.

The editing workstation was turned into a studio. Microphones, studio speakers, guitars, mixer and machines were gathered and we chose Reason as our main DAW. There’s something very familiar for both of us to connect the cables in a virtual rack.

Ableton Live is the base for the live concerts.

What we want right now is to book gigs and come out and play live. That’s what it’s all about in the end. To stand in the center of the room and just be in the moment, creating music. That’s why the album is called Verdandi. She is the noun that represents the present. The unfolding of events. You can’t enter a room without changing the dynamics of it, so why not make an effort.
